Aaron Kyle-Lee: Production Assistant/ Boom Operator
I was born in Seoul South Korea, and was adopted at 10 months old by an American family. I moved with my parents to Tucson Arizona from Grand Junction Colorado at the age of seven. I grew up in the same house that my dad did.
I have always had a love for cars which quickly grew into a passion as I grew older. I am an avid collector of die-cast model cars, and love to read books on cars. I am also an auto mechanic by trade. I own a slightly modified, now classic Volvo station wagon that I would say is one of my most prized possessions. (It was actually used as a dolly during the filming of episode four.)
While working at a local hotel in Tucson, I met Producer Tina Huerta, who introduced me to the Indie Film industry. I was called upon by Props Master Darren Scott who asked me to design and build on a couple of props for the Zhon production. It was here that I got my first taste of what actually happens during the making of a movie. I stayed on as a boom operator and grip, and eventually was offered several small rolls throughout the production by Executive Producer and Actor, Eric Schumacher. I also helped the Production Assistants from time to time and even the Gaffers. I also assisted the Director of Photography Thomas Castillo. I was also Script Supervisor for one of the scenes during filming.
Since then, I have worked with a film club called CinaCats Society at the University of Arizona, headed up by Script Supervisor Heather DiPietro and was an honorary member and officer. I did some acting and crew work for them as well.
Currently, I am going to college for an Associate’s of Applied Science Degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and am pursuing a career in mechanical drafting and design, possibly even mechanical engineering. I am also a member and officer of the international Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, holding a 3.95 GPA. I would like to go into the field of automotive design.
